Pawns or Kings is a collaborative alt rock/folk band from the Ozark Mountains that consists of lead singer and songwriter Pawns or Kings and his musical friends. Songs regularly feature long time collaborator Ben Bigelow who lends guitar and vocals as well as newer names like Vanja Grastic (guitar, bass, composition), Alex Johnson (percussion and drums), and former Circ du Soliele performer and musician Sebastian Savard (violin). These collaborators live all over the world with this band spanning from Missouri, to Nashville, to LA, to Quebec, and all the way to Serbia. Pawns or Kings is hard to pin down in any specific genre, preferring to mix his influences from metal, alt rock, gothic country, traditional mountain folk, and anison. He records his music in his 100 sq ft gold vocalbooth that he built with his friends in his barn. He loves to lend vocals to other bands and artists who want to collaborate having teamed up with artists Sam Donald , Dark Sun , and with many more to come.
