Biography & Metadata

Ryan Waczek is a two-time Emmy Award-winning composer and acoustic-pop singer-songwriter whose music blends heartfelt storytelling, emotive vocals, and cinematic scope. Known for crafting songs that feel both intimate and expansive, Ryan bridges the worlds of artist and composer with striking emotional clarity. Drawing comparisons to Phillip Phillips, Dean Lewis, and Sleeping At Last, his sound is rooted in acoustic textures and melodic songwriting, layered with subtle folk and Americana influences. His lyrics explore themes of love, resilience, and transformation. He earned Emmy honors from the NATAS Pacific Southwest Chapter for his original compositions on the KPBS series Theater Corner, and previously received a technical Emmy for his work behind the scenes. He also composed the original soundtrack for the PBS documentary Floating Horses, which received the Western Heritage Award. Ryan has opened for Kina Grannis and The Mowgli's, and his work has been featured in the San Diego Union-Tribune, SD Voyager Magazine, and Audio-Issues. His debut single “HOME” introduced listeners to his emotional, cinematic acoustic-pop style — a sound built to resonate on both stage and screen.
