Biography & Metadata

Shafer is an American rapper and singer born and raised in Salt Lake City. His connection with fans stems from his passionate, raw, and heartfelt lyrics. Shafer’s personal and deep storytelling comes from years of feeling misfitted. This evolved into his most passionate message; that accepting yourself and believing in you can be powerful. In the spring of 2021, Shafer emerged as an influential artist with his single “Who Am I” reaching thousands of people and gaining national news coverage through NBC. Not afraid to take on raw and taboo issues, Shafer wrote this song to highlight the mental health issues that surrounded him as a firefighter. The importance of “Who Am I” was showcased by Daily Dispatch and multiple fire and E.M.S training centers based out of California, dealing in suicide prevention. In January of 2023 Shafer collaborated with legendary ultramarathoner and bowhunter Cameron Hanes creating the introduction song for Cameron’s podcast “The Keep Hammering Collective.” A year after the podcast release the song was played on the Joe Rogan experience as Joe Rogan interviewed Cam on episode #2068 this in turn catapulted the song to #6 on the ITunes hip-hop Charts and #84 in all genres. Moving forward, Shafer continues to create music that uplifts and inspires people to embrace what makes them unique and find power in their differences.
