Biography & Metadata
periphery, the fourth full-length album from the BV’s, takes listeners on a journey through the musical landscape that has defined the band for nearly a decade: melancholic melodies meet no-frills indie pop, reverberating dream pop and krautrock-style repetition. Between arranged songs and open, improvised, unfolding passages, a unique form of pop music emerges: minimalist and catchy, hauntological and bittersweet, and defined by the band’s post-genre approach. While their previous albums were largely created independently in home studios and rehearsal spaces, periphery marks a new way of working for the band. In May 2026, the BV’s spent four days at the Albert Matong Atelier für Musik in Augsburg to record the album live with producer Maximilian Wörle, capturing the band’s immediate and collaborative dynamic. To support the album, the BV’s will play shows in Germany and Austria in Autumn 2026 and Winter 2027. periphery will be released in collaboration with the labels Kleine Untergrund Schallplatten, PaulaPaulPlatten and Shelflife Records on vinyl and digitally on 27.11.2026. “a superb mix of classic-sounding indiepop a la sarah records, dreampop, kraut and noise.“ rough trade "the bv’s can essay winsome pop as if it had never been done before…" chickfactor "the bv's hit the shoegaze/dream pop sweet spot..." faster and louder
