Biography & Metadata
Ulises Bueno is an Argentine cuarteto singer and songwriter from Córdoba, the capital city of the genre. Even before his professional career began, Bueno already had a claim as cuarteto royalty on account of being the brother of Rodrigo Bueno, arguably the most popular cuarteto singer to emerge in the 1990s, and whose death in a car accident in 2000 at the age of 27 made him a sort of national legend. Born in 1985, Ulises was 12 years younger than Rodrigo, and as a teenager used to join his brother on-stage. When he turned 18 he released his first solo album, Yo Volveré (2003), and for the following decade he patiently proceeded to build a career in the shadow of his big brother. While he did indeed manage to make a name for himself in the regional cuarteto scene, mainstream national recognition arrived by the mid-2010s with albums such as Soy (2015) and Creo (2017). Furthermore, Bueno was both flexible and canny enough to recognize the possibilities of collaborating with artists from other genres, particularly from the cumbia and the booming urban scenes. Soon enough he was enjoying the biggest success of his career with viral hits such as "Atorrante" with Las Palmeras and "Mentiras/Crossover#3" with Big One and Rusher King (both 2023), and even touring internationally. By the time Rompecabezas appeared in 2025, his discography comprised more than 30 studio and live albums. ~ Mariano Prunes, Rovi
