Biography & Metadata

Ram Kumar is a Chennai-based singer with a love for R&B, pop and funk, shaped by years of listening to everyone from John Mayer and Maroon 5 to Bruno Mars and Sam Smith. He’s been singing for as long as he can remember, including six years spent living in Bangkok, where many nights ended with him behind a mic at bars around the city. Then came Ain’t Nobody. A call from his good friend Anirudh Ravichander went something along the lines of, “I need your voice on this track.” Ram was at the studio 30 minutes later. Created with Anirudh and The Albans for the DC teaser trailer, the original one-minute version of Ain’t Nobody was recorded in about 90 minutes. A week before DC Rave, another call came in — they needed a longer version. With lyrics from Heisenberg, Ram and Anirudh were back in the studio and had the Extended Cut finished in roughly another hour. Sometimes things just happen. For now, Ram is back to doing what he’s always done — singing songs he loves, sharing covers on Instagram, and seeing where the music takes him next.
