Biography & Metadata

Actor Jens Wawrczeck has one of the best-known voices in the German-speaking world. He gained cult status through his role as detective Peter Shaw in the radio drama series “The three question marks” – a status he holds to this today. Jens Wawrczeck has received plenty of accolades, including the German Record Critics’ Prize for Audio Books and the Hersfeld Award for Best Actor. He performs with the Leidenschaft Theater, has collaborated on numerous audio drama productions, for example doing on the scripts for Alfred Hitchcock thrillers in German and reading them for his own audio series. He’s also developed a highly successful stage format for these stories. And we can now discover a completely new side of this multitalented artist: Jens Wawrczeck the singer. On his debut album, “Celluloid”, he brings together and performs a very personal selection of twelve songs from American, French and Spanish films. Music lovers and newspaper reviewers are impressed. “A heart-warming album,” concludes the Lübecker Nachrichten. Wawrczeck is “sometimes soulful, sometimes amazingly powerful,” says the Schleswig Holstein Zeitung, but “always delightful!” And the Hamburger Abendblatt simply declares: it’s “great cinema.”
