Biography & Metadata

'A powerful, singular compositional voice: proof, if any were needed, that fine composers can be found everywhere in the music business.' - American Record Guide
Jeremy Cullen is a New Zealand composer and pianist whose music draws on his experience as a composer for film and theatre, his classical training and his work as a sound designer.
His first album Scenes, Vol. 1 (2016) was described by American Record Guide as 'A series of exquisite miniatures: interesting, expressive, and surprising melodies, coupled with traditional sounding harmonies that often lead the ear to other places than expected.' (Rob Haskins)
The score to the haunting independent film Blackspot (Original Horror Film Soundtrack) (2018) features piano played by the composer and string players from the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.  As music editor, he has also worked on film-scores such as The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) [Special Edition] by Howard Shore and the music for the documentary West Of Memphis Original Soundtrack by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis.
‘This is tonal, ambient, post-modern, post-Erik Satie music of lyrical charm and substance. It is not a nostalgic glance backward as much as a step forward in a historically aware, radically tonal vein. I recommend it to you.' - Gapplegate Music Review
