Biography & Metadata

Toronto-born rapper, producer, and songwriter DIE-REK has built a career rooted in lyrical substance, complete creative control, and authentic storytelling. His independently produced compilation The Die-Version Project earned recognition from industry veteran Schott Free (LOUD Records), leading to steady rotation of his single "Remember" on Frozen Files. A standout performance at SXSW later led to a distribution deal with Fat Beats Records and the release of his debut EP, Life Is Butta Breath. As a producer, DIE-REK reached the Billboard charts with "Hypostatic Union" for Shai Linne, contributing four tracks to the album, which peaked at No. 4. He has since released The Dying Ones and Year of Redemption through ILLECT Recordings, while earning features from EARMILK, Chuck D's And You Don't Stop, and DJ Premier's Live From HeadCourterz. Now, DIE-REK returns with "Maskuerade," releasing July 10, 2026, as the lead single from his forthcoming album, "If the Shoe Fits..." Written, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered entirely by DIE-REK, the project continues his commitment to honest storytelling, artistic independence, and hip-hop with substance.
