Back in the early 2000s he began producing beat-heavy downtempo, jazzy triphop and house music. Discovering synthwave around 2015 it just clicked: Synths, arpeggios, 80s sounds and strong melodies - all combined in glorious retro packaging. In 2022, after a long break from making music he was stoked to start again and produced his first track as Lyst. His influences are many: The melody-driven synthscapes of Depeche Mode, Phil Collins' catchy hooks and incredible drum design, the amazing sound of Tears for Fears, and the glittery harmonies of Boy Meets Girl.
