Sofie Royer

Sofie Royer is a California-born Vienna-based musician and artist. Her music can be described as indie pop, featuring baroque influences from her time studying classical music at the Konservatorium Wien, but remain tinged with nostalgia for Gen X, early aughts reality television, and any coming of age tale, from arriviste to mall punk. Sofie Royer is also known as a DJ and an original member of Boiler Room, and hosted her own shows on East Village Radio and NTS. She has opened for artists such as Air, Lana del Ray, LCD Soundsystem and Belle & Sebastian, and collaborated with Kavinsky, Toro y Moi and Lewis OfMan. She has previously worked at Stones Throw Records, the label she is now signed with, as digital manager and A&R, curating a compilation called Sofie's SOS Tapes, in 2018. Her self-produced debut album Cult Survivor released in 2020, followed by Harlequin in 2022, Young-Girl Forever in 2024. Her fourth studio album, before/after, will release September 2026.
