The Hayds

The Hayds is the Riverside-based dark indie pop brainchild of frontman and vocalist Joshua Muñoz, blending the romantic melancholia of The Neighbourhood, the dreamy atmosphere of Beach House, and the club-ready attitude of The Weeknd. Once a prominent name in the Inland Empire backyard scene, Muñoz proudly maintains that rebellious DIY spirit by rejecting genre norms and creating a fresh sound under the self-coined term “surfwav.” Latest singles “damage” and “shimmer noir ” are the poster-children of the crossroads between surf and electronica, and serving as the lead singles from the upcoming LP, fiercely represent the maturation of Munoz’s dive into this newly trademarked sound.
