Yannis Karalis

Yannis Karalis (composer-lyricist) Born in Athens was once proposed to the audience by legendary Manos Hatzidakis whom he owes the beginning of his career. Yannis is often noted for his ease in creating ‘hits’, his humor and intelligence while his songs are notable for their quality and certainly for their originality. As Yannis himself states “I despise boring mediocrity and prefer the extremes..” Up to this day Yannis’ songs remain all time classic and most of them reached gold and platinum. He has written hundreds of hit songs for most of Greece’s top performers, topping million units, and justifying the fact that people consider him to be amongst the top Greek composers of our time. He also composed instrumental music (international musical sensation), music for theatrical productions and a plethora of awarded adv jingles. Yannis helped release and established several young talents for whom he wrote albums with major hits and commercial success (Christos Dantis, Litsa Giagousi, Keti Garbi..) His work has been dubbed audacious and innovative. Yannis engagements range from Physics, electronics, engineering, medicine, poetry.. He adores a good sense of humor and the wisdom of the ordinary man. He dislikes current days saviors, music plagiarists and wannabees. A believer that human stupidity should be penalized, Yannis often dreams of who he used to be, when he desired to become who he is today.
