Biography & Metadata
In early 2026, in an old barn on his avocado farm near the ocean, RY X tucked himself away to explore his emotional terrain and see what music might come from it. The songs flowing from this inquisition were intimate and vulnerable, as the revered artist wrote about love and longing, deep connections to self and nature, grief, joy and, he says, “the dance with spirit itself.” This music is now collected on Dusk, the new RY X album arriving in early 2027. The project will close a ten-year cycle started with RY X's 2016 debut, Dawn, with the artist now looking ahead, as he puts it, "to the new chapters being born and written." For the Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and producer, music and life itself have always existed in symbiosis, with his five albums, many singles and countless performances being honest expressions of his life at any given moment. As agile with delicate folk songs as he is with lush electronic productions, RY X has collaborated with artists including Drake, John Legend, Black Coffee and the London Philharmonic, amassing a catalog of over a billion global streams. Born in Australia and based in Southern California, he's performed at some of the world's great venues, including Sydney Opera House and Royal Albert Hall, along with small, packed rooms in many of the world's most interesting cities. Crowds come not just for the music but for RY X's ability to transform any space into a candlelit sanctuary that feels both intimate and epic.
