Kate Simko

American composer, electronic music producer, DJ, and leader of her ensemble London Electronic Orchestra, Kate Simko blends influences from her hometown, Chicago, and background in classical piano and jazz. Insistent, hypnotic, and groovy, Kate Simko's beats incorporate elements of Detroit techno and Chicago house while charting their own path. Minimalism and majesty collide in the classically trained pianist's compositions, which have earned her a devoted following in the electronic music scene. Simko immersed herself in the Chicago underground dance scene as a teen, and studied Music at Northwestern University and later received a Masters in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music. Simko found her home with Ghostly International for her first records, a happy haven for electronica inventors. Her albums, remixes and soundtracks have earned influence outside the underground.
