Biography & Metadata

Heartwells are Long Beach, CA punk rock! Where the sun, sand, city and punks meet to party. Formed amidst the uncertainty of the 2020 pandemic, Heartwells have created a sound emblematic of the days of Punk Rock’s past while injecting a new, and energetic twist to an already aggressive style. During some rounds of mediocre golf, Justin “JT” Tauch (vocals/guitar) and Dave “Moki” Marino (bass/vocals) decided to put their plan of forming a band into action. While rounding out the group with Sam “Skwid”Peterson (guitar/vocals) and Chris “Guinness” Stout (drums/vocals,) Heartwells released their first full length effort 2024 LP, “The New Old School” and immediately began to develop a following in the Southern California scene. After hitting the local spots as well as numerous dates on the road, the band wasted no time and headed back into the studio. The result was their recent 2025 EP, “Ollie,” on Hey!Fever Records. As Heartwells continue to grow, their sound continues to mature. The music is thrashy, yet polished. The lyrics show grit, but there is depth, the musicianship isn’t flashy, but done with razor like precision. As they spread their punk rock catharsis to whatever place will allow, the band is leading the way and forging a once familiar path; doing the heavy lifting on their own, with no sign of slowing down, or yielding to whatever preconceived notions about who, or what a band is supposed to be. Heartwells has staying power, and that’s just what they intend to do.
