Devdutta Manisha Baji

I’m Devdutta Baji, a composer, songwriter, singer, producer and multi instrumentalist from Maharashtra, India. My music lives between the soil I come from and the world I’m curious about. Rooted in Marathi folk, Indian melodies and the sounds I grew up with, I’m drawn to the meeting point of tradition and pop, electronic, Afrobeat, Amapiano, R&B, techno and global sounds. After years of creating music for Marathi cinema, including Pawankhind, Sher Shivraj, Subhedar and Fatteshikast, I’m now entering a more personal chapter, experimenting with my own voice, writing and sound. I believe a folk rhythm can live beside an 808, and a Marathi lyric can belong on a global dancefloor. I want to create music that feels rooted yet new, familiar yet unexpected. Old soil.
