Inspired by icons like Ms. Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott, Amel Larrieux, Kelela,Solange and Sade. Born and raised by her Ghanaian parents in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, she proudly celebrates her African heritage—her skin, texture, and culture—which vividly shape her artistry and image. Her talent has earned global recognition. In 2019, she was named one of Red Bull Music’s 17 Best Newcomers, and in 2020. In 2021, she delivered a sold-out headline show in The Netherlands, captivating the audience with her powerful performance. Midi KwaKwa has solidified her place as an artist to watch. Building on her experiences, Midi KwaKwa released her debut EP, Moonflower in March 2025. Through this project, she explores themes close to her heart—mental health, resilience, self-assurance, and the sensuality of femininity. Each track draws from personal encounters and reflections, capturing the dualities of love and sadness from the perspective of a blossoming Black woman. Moonflower embodies her growth, resilience, and the beauty of transformation through life’s challenging moments.
