Brent Thomas Mills

Brent Thomas Mills is a pianist, composer, producer, and music director whose career has been built at the intersection of music and movement. Playing piano by ear from age seven, Mills later studied Piano Performance at Berklee College of Music and Composite Dance at Brigham Young University. While accompanying dance classes, he discovered an instinctive ability to watch movement and create the rhythm, phrasing, and musical architecture it needed—a skill that would shape the next three decades of his career. His work has taken him from New York's Martha Graham School and Alvin Ailey to international stages and dance competitions in London, Dubrovnik, Costa Rica, Shanghai, Tokyo, and beyond. His music has reached television and international dancesport, including PBS's America's Ballroom Challenge, So You Think You Can Dance, and the Blackpool Dance Festival. Today, Mills is bringing that lifetime of experience back to the piano through Under the Covers, reimagining classic songs through unexpected rhythms, harmonies, and styles.
