Biography & Metadata

Introducing Blacklike…. Tintz! London born grime artist Tintz officially returned to the Grime scene back in 2018 following a break from the industry. He landed back with a bang, with his first release ‘Blacklike…’ in 2019. The single focused on his superior dark complexion and draws on his appearance, culture and experiences when writing lyrics. Following this, he has had other successes with ‘Juice’, ‘Skank’ and ‘Blacka Dan’. Tintz started back in 2007 and was featured on the prominent Grime and Hip-Hop station – Channel U. At the time the digital channel hosted many grime artists from around the UK and Tintz made his feature alongside Joe Fire on his single ‘Life We Lead’. A couple years later they released a single 'Outsides Cold' on the well known music channel GRM Daily. Tintz got his name as he is shades darker than his friends and family which has always made him proud as well as stand out of the crowd. Spending his childhood with his parents in North London, where his love of music was nurtured by his father who was a DJ. His father played all types of music including Rhythm & Blues, Reggae, Culture etc developing his love of music in all genres. Like many of the grime artists today; Tintz was a teenager when grime music exploded across the UK in the 2000s, his favourite artists at the time being D Double E , Durrty Goodz and Kano amongst others. The colour Black represents strength, seriousness, power and authority which is what Tintz is all about!
