Biography & Metadata

Born in Zimbabwe and raised in the UK, Rationale has built a reputation as a genre-defying singer, songwriter, and producer. Balancing emotional depth with musical sophistication, he stands among the UK’s most distinctive creative voices. A decade on from breakout singles ‘Fuel To The Fire’ and ‘Fast Lane’, his self-titled debut album earned critical acclaim and led to standout TV appearances on Later... with Jools Holland, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and COLORS. Rationale has taken his dynamic live performances to global stages including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, and Latitude, alongside sold-out headline shows and international tours with Bastille. Beyond his own artistry, he has written for Katy Perry, Bastille, Rag’n’Bone Man, Tom Grennan, Jazzy, Joy Anonymous, MNEK, PARISI and many more. His collaboration with Quantic on ‘Unconditional’ earned an A-list spot on BBC Radio 6 Music, reaffirming his reach across both mainstream and alternative spheres. Rationale’s combination of introspection and innovation has attracted admirers including Pharrell Williams, Elton John, Ellie Goulding, Justin Timberlake and Sam Smith. With his second album Metanoia arriving 7th November 2025, he steps into a bold new era, with songs crafted equally for the screen and the heart. The release culminates in an immersive headline performance at HERE at Outernet, London, on 7th May 2026.
