Biography & Metadata
Jean Dasso used to go by another name: Yeahman, the digger who chased sounds across the globe. As Orsso, he does the opposite: he comes home. A multi-instrumentalist, programmer and composer, he's preparing Capinera, his new album due March 2027, following Ostriconi (Fip, Radio Nova, 40M+ Spotify streams). This time it's Corsica, where he now spends part of the year. He learned the cetera, a traditional sixteen-string guitar-mandola rescued from oblivion by Riacquistu luthiers, now the thread running through the album: the synths and Mediterranean collaborations are still there, but the sound leans toward age-old ritual. Selected for Les Inouïs de Bourges (2022), spotted by Cercle for a live session in the Jordanian desert (2 million views), he's spent a decade touring the world and founded his own festival in Marseille in 2024, Folks Festival. He also composes for the screen: a festival-winning documentary (Les Sommets Libres, 2026), a podcast with several million listens (Sauce Algérienne), and two film scores due in 2027.
