Citizens of the World Choir

Citizens of the World Choir is a musical family celebrating the artistry, heritage, and humanity of people seeking sanctuary, and their allies, advocating for understanding, dignity, and kindness through the transformative impact of music and song. In 2017, after the closure of the Calais Jungle, Lord Roger Roberts of Llandudno dreamt of a project that would open its arms to the refugee community in the UK. As a proud Welshman, he knew it had to be a choir. Led by CEO & Conductor Becky Dell, Citizens of the World Choir was born. Now, our community is 50 members strong, representing 30 different nationalities and we have collaborated with iconic artists including Ed Sheeran, Elbow and Basement Jaxx and performed on some of the UK's most celebrated stages. Our music and story highlight the resilience of the human spirit. With vibrant and unique repertoire of always original or bespoke works and arrangements we celebrate the rich ethnic and cultural diversity that finds a home in our choir.
