Biography & Metadata
Yndio, also known simply as Yndio, is a Mexican group from Sonora renowned for its distinctive blend of romantic ballads, grupero music, polka, and cumbia. Formed in 1972 by former members of Los Pulpos, the group developed a signature sound by adapting American soft rock and pop ballads into a Mexican style. During the 1970s, Yndio became one of the most recognized groups of its generation. Their version of “I’m Leaving It All Up to You” reached No. 1 on the singles charts, while songs such as “Love Hurts,” “Kiss and Say Goodbye,” “Telephone Line,” “Unchained Melody,” and “We Said Goodbye” became enduring favorites in Mexico and Latin America. For more than five decades, Yndio has performed extensively throughout Mexico, the United States, and Latin America, building a devoted audience across generations. In recent years, Yndio reached a new generation of listeners through its collaboration with Mexican star Carín León on “Dame un Beso y Dime Adiós - En Vivo,” which became a major streaming success and brought renewed attention to the group and its music. Today, Yndio remains active, continuing its successful tours and bringing its timeless romantic sound to longtime fans while connecting with new audiences around the world. Its legacy continues through its songs, performances, and collaborations.
