Joachim Spieth’s musical career spans over two decades, marked by his multifaceted roles as a DJ, producer, live act performer, and the host of the esteemed Affin label. In the early days of his career, Joachim Spieth made significant strides by collaborating with Wolfgang Voigt’s Kompakt label. His contributions to the renowned Pop Ambient series, along with a track featured on The Orb’s Back To Mine compilation, solidified his reputation in the ambient music realm. A pivotal moment in Spieth’s career was the founding of his label Affin in 2007. Under his leadership, Affin has grown into an internationally renowned label that creates a community of like-minded artists. Collaborating closely with Markus Guentner, Spieth has forged a dynamic partnership that extends beyond music. In his discography, Spieth has demonstrated a remarkable versatility that has earned him recognition from critics and audiences. In addition to albums such as Irradiance, Terrain, Overlay and Retrace, esteemed artists such as alva noto, Pole, Abul Mogard, Rafael Anton Irisarri, Dino Sabatini, Luigi Tozzi and Claudio PRC have reinterpreted his works. With “Textures”, Spieth has also created a sound library series that further underlines his dedication to sonic experimentation. Joachim Spieth has performed as a DJ in over 30 countries, in recent years, he developed an ambient live set showcased at festivals such as Up To Date (Białystok), Mostra (Barcelona), and the Ambientalny Festival (Wrocław).
