Fundado en 1998 en Puebla por los hermanos Tlahuetl, Grupo Soñador es un referente de la cumbia sonidera y pionero de la "cumbia poblana". Este estilo destaca por el uso de sintetizadores y percusiones electrónicas. Tras posicionarse con discos como Camino al Cielo, alcanzaron el éxito internacional en 2001 con el himno "El Paso del Gigante", llenando escenarios tanto en México como en Estados Unidos. Pese a los cambios en la industria, el líder Beto Tlahuetl reinventó la agrupación sumando a sus hijas, Lucero y Maritza. Hoy en día, la banda continúa atrayendo a nuevas generaciones y manteniendo vivo su legado musical.
