Biography & Metadata

Café Quijano, formed by brothers Manuel, Óscar and Raúl Quijano, is one of the most distinctive and recognizable groups in Spanish music. Since 1997, they have developed a unique style blending pop, rock, bolero and Latin American sounds, becoming the first Spanish group ever nominated for a Grammy Award. With ten studio albums and more than three million records sold worldwide, their career has been marked by major international success. “La Lola” reached No. 1 in more than thirty countries and sold close to one million copies, while La Taberna del Buda (2001) achieved one million album sales. After achieving major success in pop-rock, Café Quijano surprised audiences once again with Orígenes: El Bolero, a trilogy that reinvented the genre and made them the most-nominated Spanish group at that year’s Latin Grammy Awards, including nominations for Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Producer of the Year for Manuel Quijano. Throughout their career, they have collaborated with artists such as Celine Dion, Armando Manzanero, Joaquín Sabina, Andrés Calamaro,Lila Downs, La Josa, Taburete, Shinova…and have shared the stage with international icons: Santana, Herbie Hancock, Steve Vai… Their live performances are considered among the most spectacular and exciting on the Spanish music scene. Today, Café Quijano remains more relevant than ever, performing to large audiences in many countries around the world.
