Tay Toe

Creatively uniting a limitless passion for music with a powerfully authentic writing style, rapper and artist Tay Toe brings integrity and heart to contemporary hip hop. Tay Toe’s repertoire denotes an artist committed to the cause – driven by equal parts soul and precision, amidst a fine balance of melodic, lyrical, and instrumental appeal. The Los Angeles-born songwriter began making music at just fifteen years old, and boasts a unique background of musicianship in line with his lifelong fascination with rap. His journey was also distinctly impacted by personal turmoil, and as such, his tracks connect for their warmth and emotion as much so as their fearless sense of vulnerability and openness. Adversity is a ride, and the music reaches out to inspire those who have been through similar struggles. Tay Toe’s ability to recognise valuable, immersive musical tones is unrivalled; alongside his skill for mastering the mic. Eclectic flows and breathless, compelling performances are long-time calling cards of his work. The 2022 album ‘Habits and Setbacks’ demonstrates a notably more minimalist set-up, and an acutely focused and profoundly honest way with writing. Versatility is consistently a strength, and the album is loaded with unexpected twists, tempos and intentions. Despite the shifting gears though, Tay Toe’s threads of identity remain unwavering, as he relays a multitude of deeply purposeful stories and inspiring ideas.
