Manolo Ke

Kenyan born and based award winning musician, rapper singer songwriter, Manolo born Emmanuel Mwongela , shares his gift throughout his music catalogue. Growing up in a Christian home he spent most of his formative years in church and when he wasn’t in church, he was busy sharing his dreams of on day singing own compositions on a global stage with his friends who would often laugh at him in disbelief. “I started writing my own songs and would perform them at school functions, they all knew that this was my purpose in life ” shares Manolo. “Most of the time I would be freestyling with friends during breaks sharpening the skills.” Manolo lists his earliest musical influences as gospel fathers,Wernono family,Rufftone,Daddy Owen, Esther Wahome,Kambua amongst others who pioneered urban Kenyan gospel music in the early 2000,s.His first foray into music was in 2013 where he recorded his first song, a rap record titled wishes forever with his bandmates Recapp .Of his earliest recordings he says, “All I wanted to do was share my gift with the world and tell a story of what I believe in, if these songs resonate with even one person then my heart is full. He made this intentional switch to a solo career in 2018 and since then he’s been focused on consistently releasing that urban Kenyan gospel sound.
