Doveland. The title of Django Django's sixth studio album, takes its name from an online urban myth: a supposedly vanished midwest town that appears on no maps, yet some believe they once lived there, even holding souvenirs as proof. The idea of searching for an impossible place became the catalyst for their most personal and focused record to date. Stepping back from the genre-hopping spirit that defined their previous work, the band retreated to the German countryside with producer Nick McCarthy (Franz Ferdinand) and composer/producer Polly Ester. The result is 12 tracks rooted in both imagination and lived experience. Quietly shaped by loss, grief, and the fleeting nature of human connection.
