Avenue

Avenue is a British band hailing from London, consisting of Pave (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Matthew Nicholls (Backing Vocals, Guitar), Thom Pew (Bass Guitar) and Jan Trafas (Drums). The band was founded in 2018, when Pave and Matt met while studying at the University of Sussex in the Southeastern English town of Brighton. They were influenced by various genres of music spanning several decades and began writing and performing as a two-piece. Fraser Frengley produced the band's first singles, A Picture on the Wall and The Teardrop's a Shower, in 2019. In 2021, Jan and Thom joined the band, completing the full line-up. Avenue draws on a wide range of influences, including Indie, Pop, Rock, Disco, and Rap. Their debut EP, Queens Park Road, was released in March 2020 under the independent label Purple 3 Records. Some describe their music as a fusion of disco and Britpop, reflecting London's diverse musical landscape, from India to Poland to Brighton. Avenue are Isle of Wight Festival Finalists 2023.
