Cory Hale

In the moments between holding a crucial corner of Nashville’s independent music scene together with his skills as a producer, studio and touring musician, expert songwriter collaborator, and universally loved prodigy creative amongst peers and strangers, San Diego native Cory Hale spent the last two years meticulously piecing together Melancholy Kiss, his second full length studio album. A slow walk down a rainy forest path, the safe warmth of a weighted blanket, and a nuanced confrontation with his childhood, Melancholy Kiss is a nostalgic journey of realized self-worth, acceptance of being, and a spiritual synthesis of mind and body. Built on a nearly tangible bedrock of guitars, drums you can taste, occasional analog synths, and a soft, gentle vocal performance definitive to Hale, the album boasts a spectrum of indie alternative, shoegaze, singer-songwriter, and soft rock soundscapes while effortlessly shifting the listener between hyper-focused and trance-like states. A pure, self-produced, one-of-a-kind gift to the world, Melancholy Kiss proves Cory Hale as one to watch, learn, and grow from. The album’s follow-up EP “Love, Morphine” is out October 24th.
