Somaphon

Somaphon was musically influenced as a child by Bach, Mozart, Krautrock, Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Yellow and Tangerine Dream, among others. At the age of 6 she was already playing minuets by Bach and also small pieces by Mozart on her recorder, along with the usual folk and children's songs . As a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, she moved to Berlin in 2000 to intensively live out her love of electronic music and to build up a network of creative musicians and artists. Somaphon has been active in the electronic underground scene for over 20 years. She used to perform as a live act, but now works as a DJ, musician and event organizer. She is founder of the event series Human Colours at KitKat Club, with which she and her crew realized the float of the same name at the RAVE THE PLANET PARADE in 2023 and 2024. True to the motto "LIVE with LOVE", Somaphon creates groovy, atmospheric dancefloor steam in their Tracks and Dj-Sets. Delicate soundscapes blossom into being with warm, punchy, crackling basses and ethno-acid-jazz elements, creating unique worlds of sound through deep techytouch beats, inviting the listener on a journey into a colourful universe of aural discovery. The sounds represent characters in a story told by the tracks.
