Dianne van Giersbergen

Dianne van Giersbergen (1985) is a Dutch dramatic soprano best known as the former lead vocalist of symphonic metal band Xandria. With the band, she toured the world and released two albums—Sacrificium (2014) and Theater of Dimensions (2017)—and one EP, Fire & Ashes (2015), all through Napalm Records. In 2023, Dianne launched her solo project "DIANNE" with the release of “After the Storm”, the first single from her upcoming symphonic metal album Soulward Bound. The album will be released over five years, with two singles each year. Her new single "The Quietude" will be released on April 3rd, 2026. Dianne is also the frontwoman of Ex Libris, the progressive metal band she founded in 2004. The band’s third album, Ann (A Progressive Metal Trilogy), was self-released in 2019. You may have also heard Dianne’s powerful voice on Ayreon’s Transitus (2020), Powerwolf’s The Sacrament of Sin (2018), and Amorphis’ Halo (2022). A classically trained soprano, Dianne began her vocal studies at age 4 and went on to graduate with distinction from the ArtEZ Academy of Music conservatory, completing both her bachelor’s (2009) and master’s (2012) degrees in classical music and opera.
