Biography & Metadata

Cage The Elephant have never felt comfortable in traditional comfort zones. Instead, they’ve instinctively and uncompromisingly chased inspiration without second guessing it. As a result, every record has represented a creative rebirth for the multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning band—Matt Shultz [vocals], Brad Shultz [guitar], Nick Bockrath [guitar], Matthan Minster [guitar, keys, backing vocals], Daniel Tichenor [bass], and Jared Champion [drums]. Simultaneously, no stage has been quite big enough to contain their unmatched energy, undeniable swagger, and unspoken refusal to stand still. With a catalog of enduring hits, reputation for unforgettable performances, and legions of fans worldwide, they have unassumingly led alternative music and culture for two decades now. Fueled by this sound, their rise was earmarked by 10 billion streams and counting, dozens of Gold, Platinum, and Multi-Platinum certifications, and thirteen #1 records on Alternative Radio and 5 #1 records on Triple A Radio. They were nominated for their first GRAMMY® Award with Melophobia [2013] and later won Best Rock Album for back-to-back releases Tell Me I’m Pretty [2015] and Social Cues [2019], followed by another nomination in the Alternative category for Neon Pill [2024]. In 2026, the band are reborn again with their first new music in two years and upcoming full-length debut LP under new label Big Loud Rock. Cage The Elephant’s next era begins with “Beaches In Tennessee.”
