Teis Semey

The “bad boy of Dutch Jazz”, Danish guitarist Teis Semey, is one of the central pillars of the upcoming European jazz scene. Semey is known for a wild, untameable and raw style, represented in his band Teis Semey Quintet. The “nordic punk-freejazz” has grabbed headlines in European jazz circles and paved the way for the Danish countryboystreetpunkerjazzmusician to be regarded as one of the most exciting new up-starts in modern European jazz. In recent years, Semey has also earned recognition as a composer with his organ/guitar/ choir Midnight Mess and his electro/acoustic Raw Fish. “charmingly nonchalant” - JazzSK “... grabs you by the shoulders, and screams a story into your face.
