With Peruvian and French Canadian roots, electronic music producer and vocalist Quilla is known for her multi-faceted, dreamlike songs that combine DIY beats, sweeping melodies and vocal loops. As a member of electronic folk trio The Queen Bees, Quilla serves as singer, keyboardist and producer for the band. Also a versatile DJ, Quilla’s curated DJ sets blend bangers, pop and folk music from around the world, influenced by her studies in anthropology and linguistics. Quilla has composed and produced theme songs for WUNC in North Carolina, including the award-winning radio shows ‘Embodied’ (2020), ‘Due South’ (2023) and others. A versatile lyricist, she has worked with renowned DJ / producers such as Tiësto, Sultan + Shepard, Heatbeat, Feenixpawl and others, and her tracks have been released by Universal Music, Revealed Recordings, Armada Music, Vicious Recordings, and Ministry of Sound. Her first album 'Beautiful Hybrid' (Ritual Fire Records, 2014) was featured by iTunes in their ‘Ahead of the Curve’ playlist, and the album was remixed on limited edition vinyl by Visionquest Music. Regarding her second album 'You Got It' (2017), a reviewer from ‘I Want EDM’ noted, “her ability to transcend genres and tie all the brilliant intricacies of her production together is majestic.” Her third studio album ‘The Handbook of Vivid Moments’ (2020) was supported by the North Carolina Arts Council.
