Age of Distraction

Welcome. You are living in the AGE OF DISTRACTION. Please do not scroll; content is being created which requires your attention. Age Of Distraction is a studio project formed by Ex 'This Winter Machine' guitarist and songwriter John Cook, blending progressive rock and metal influences with a modern, multi-layered production style to achieve a fresh, heavy and unique sound. The debut album 'A Game of Whispers' was released in May 2024 to critical acclaim, with superb reviews across a wide array of progressive rock / metal outlets! As time passed, the core members found their commitments to their main bands taking precedent, which resulted in primary songwriter John working more closely with producer Dom Bennison, to complete the bands EP 'Choose Your Side', the EP was more instrumentally focussed but did have the epic 10 minute title track which featured incredible US vocalist Trevor Laake (Screams of Syrens). The 2nd album titled 'Life Is Pain' is scheduled for release on 2nd October 2026, the first 2 singles from the upcoming album have been received to critical acclaim. With John's infectious writing style and Dom's incredible production, and featuring some amazing US session vocalists, the new album promises a treat for fans. The bands debut album is available NOW and can be purchased through the Gravity Dream website or through Age of Distraction Bandcamp.
