Michael F Williams

Powerfully expressive with unrestrained emotional intensity, Williams’ work cuts straight to the heart of the human condition. His music is sophisticated, yet immediately accessible to a wide audience. He has an uncanny knack of seeing into the centre of things, and finding the right notes, harmonies, colours and rhythmic impulses to carry his listeners along with him. He is a leading composer in New Zealand and is well known and respected internationally, especially in Italy where his second opera “The Juniper Passion” had its world premiere. With performances in Europe, America, China, the UK, Ireland and Vietnam, he has attracted the attention of the international music community and along the way has changed people’s hearts and minds through the power of his musical expression.
