Biography & Metadata

Charlie Kaplan is a New York-based songwriter. His debut album, “Sunday”, was named one of the top 50 albums of 2020 by "Across the Margin" and "Beyond the Pond". "Sunday" was produced by Andrew Daly Frank and features Caitlin Pasko, Ian Wayne, Winston C.W., members of Cuddle Magic, and more. He subsequently released two EPs, 2021’s The Light of the Day 2 and 2022’s Heavy Light. In 2023, he released his second album Country Life in America on Glamour Gowns. It was critically acclaimed upon release, described by PopMatters as “pop perfection… often punctuated by profound, unusual moments that signify an artist and his group willing to try anything.” In 2024 he released his third album Eternal Repeater, produced by Nico Hedley. PopMatters reviewed the album favorably, saying it “genuinely mesmerizes but also revels in shifting gears while remaining fresh.” In 2025 he released his fourth album, A Hat Upon the Bed, which PopMatters hailed as a “masterpiece” and in 2026 announced his fifth album “Dobro”.
