Biography & Metadata

Best-known for the 1990 single "Wiggle It," for a brief time 2 in a Room was one of the most popular hybrids of hip-hop and dance music. The group was the brainchild of rapper/singer/songwriter/producer Rafael "Dose" Vargas; singles such as "Do What You Want" and the full-length debut Wiggle It earned Vargas widespread airplay and some critical acclaim. After collaborating with rapper Elvin "Floodlight" Ovalles, 2 in a Room released the singles "El Trago (The Drink)" and "Ahora (Now)," as well as the 1995 album World Party and the 1996 single "Carnival"; while these releases had some success, they didn't match up to the group's earlier efforts, and they disbanded awhile later. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
