John B is one of Drum & Bass music's most distinctive artists. A producer, DJ, vocalist and founder of Beta Recordings, he's spent over three decades pushing electronic music beyond conventional boundaries, blending DNB with electro, trance, synthpop, liquid funk and darker underground influences. From classics like Up All Night to his pioneering Electrostep sound, John B has consistently followed his own musical instincts. His catalogue includes releases on Metalheadz, Prototype, Moving Shadow, Hospital, Viper, Spearhead and Beta Recordings. His music has also reached far beyond DNB, notably when Nicki Minaj sampled his track Red Sky for Here I Am on her multi-platinum debut album Pink Friday. His other projects include WYLD DOGZ, Magellan Starchild and the atmospheric ambient sounds of Whispered Light. In 2026, he launched JOHN B x SKULLS, exploring his lifelong love of gothic rock, darkwave, post-punk, EBM and industrial music. Debut single Sleep in the Ashes introduces his forthcoming DARKRAVE album, combining classic goth atmospheres with modern Drum & Bass energy. An active international DJ and livestreamer, John B continues to explore everything from atmospheric DNB and liquid funk to high-energy dancefloor music and experimental electronics.
