Biography & Metadata

A$AP NAST (real name Tairiq Devega) is an American rapper and hip-hop artist most prominently known as a member of the Harlem-based hip-hop group A$AP Mob. Nast was raised in West Harlem, New York, where he grew up with his cousin and future A$AP Mob member A$AP Rocky. He dropped out of school before graduation with the sole intent of pursuing a career in music, and was one of the first members to join A$AP Mob. He originally went by the nickname "New York Nast," but changed it to include the A$AP moniker along with the rest of the Mob members. Making his official debut on one of A$AP Rocky’s earliest tracks, "Uptown," Nast also appeared on a number of songs on Rocky's debut mixtape, 'Live.Love.A$AP’. Nast was featured on A$AP Mob’s collective debut mixtape 'Lords Never Worry’ and set out on tour to promote the release with the rest of the group. In October 2013, the Mob released “Trillmatic,” lead by Nast, which became his breakout single and met favorable reviews from critics and audiences alike. In 2016, Nast reappeared with the Mob on the single "Presidents" before setting out on extensive solo tour of Europe later that year. The young rapper took the lead on a number of singles with A$AP Mob, as well as appeared on UK rapper Skepta’s track "Ladies Hit Squad" alongside D Double E. Long awaited by fans, Nast delivered his first official solo single in 7 years as an independent artist “Designer Boi” in 2020.
