Biography & Metadata
Canadian artist Eden Samara grew up in the mountains of British Columbia writing folk songs, performing in choirs, and discovering underground rave culture. Since relocating to London in 2019, Eden has become a sought-after collaborator within underground dance music, contributing vocals and songwriting to acclaimed releases including albums by Call Super (Eulo Cramps), Parris (In Search of Indigo Moonlight), and two records by Loraine James on Hyperdub Records (Reflection, Gentle Confrontation). Her work has been praised by publications including The Guardian, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Crack, and DJ Magazine. Eden’s debut album ‘Rough Night’, released in 2022 on London label Local Action, further established her as a name to watch in contemporary club music. Fleshed out with co-production from Shanti Celeste, Call Super, Loraine James, and TSVI, Rough Night is a confessional work ranging from introspective R&B to freaky club-pop. The record was named ‘an embarrassment of riches’ by Dazed, as well as one of Mixmag’s best albums of the year, leading Eden to play international bookings in the UK and EU. With her new album ‘Odyssey’ out 4th September on Local Action & Lapsus Records, Eden will head deeper into experimental club pop territory. As with Rough Night, Eden’s collaborative nature is a constant throughout the record, with production contributions from Tim Reaper, TSVI, Loraine James, Marysia Osu and more.
