Huia

With electronic beats, organic percussion, live guitars and deep harmonies, Huia’s sound is a richly layered big bass sound with conscious lyrics in both te reo Māori and touches of English and Spanish. As an award winning-producer, and 'Best Wahine Māori' artist in 2022, her music flows from ambient liquid DnB with Baitercell and Rei, through to dancehall bangers and she has a vibrant and friendly stage presence. Huia also loves to do small intimate gatherings, keeping it simple with a guitar and her voice. She has performed at most Aotearoa's biggest festivals such as Splore and RnV, and international spots in Portugal and Canada. Her music is known as future Māori indigenous music and carries ancestral messages or empowerment and kotahitanga (unity).
