Lo Borges (born in Belo Horizonte-MG, Brazil, on January 10th of 1952), member of the Clube da Esquina, is a composer of several hits like "Um Girassol da Cor do Seu Cabelo" and "O Trem Azul", recorded by Milton Nascimento, Tom Jobim, Elis Regina, and other top artists. Raised in Belo Horizonte, Borges was a childhood friend of the other soon-to-be famous members of the Clube da Esquina, like Milton Nascimento, Wagner Tiso, Toninho Horta, and others. At 19 he was invited by Milton Nascimento to record Clube da Esquina LP, sharing the composition of the entire album. In 1972, he released his first solo album, Lô Borges, followed by A Via Láctea (1979) and Os Borges (1980). He also recorded Nuvem Cigana (1982), Sonho Real (1984), Solo (1987), Meu Filme (1996), Feira Moderna (2000), Um Dia e Meio (2003), BHANDA (2006), Intimidade (2008), Harmonia (2009), Horizonte Vertical (2011), Rio da Lua (2019), Dínamo (2020), Muito Além do Fim (2021), Chama Viva (2022), Não Me Espere na Estação (2023) and released three DVDs. His most recent works highlight his creative vitality: Tobogã, featuring Fernanda Takai and Manuela Costa, is a timeless, sensitive, and emotional record, produced with delicacy and inspiration. Now, in 2025, Lô Borges presents Céu de Giz – Lô Borges convida Zeca Baleiro, a meeting of two great names of Brazilian music, uniting their voices, poetry, and sensibilities in a unique collaboration that further expands the artist’s remarkable legacy.
