Biography & Metadata
TEOA (The End of America) is what happens when three best friends (Brendon Thomas, James Downes, and Trevor Leonard) build songs around unmistakable vocal chemistry and real connection. Rooted in Philadelphia’s indie-folk scene, their sound blends the soul of ‘70s Laurel Canyon with the energy of modern Americana. Praised by No Depression as having “the best three-part harmony since Crosby, Stills & Nash,” TEOA’s latest album Night Is Alive, named Best Alt-Country Album of 2021 by No Depression, captures the heart, friendship, and spirit that continue to define their music. In 2022, cellist Katie Weissman officially joined the group and brings a deeper emotional dimension to their sound, which can be heard on Night Is Alive as well as their most recent run of singles. The trio credit their name to Jack Kerouac’s ‘On The Road,’ from a passage about traveling across the country in search of beauty and connection until they reach “the end of America, no more land, and… nowhere to go but back.”
