Written in the wake of a near-death car accident, Smitty’s new record “This Living Ain’t That Hard” delves into faith, grief, love and loss. Influenced by artists such as Wilco, MJ Lenderman and Pedro The Lion this record carries echoes of the 90s and early 2000s, but with a little more twang. This new album includes collaborations from Bennet Littlejohn (Hovvdy, Sinai Vessel), and was mastered by Huntley Miller (Bon Iver, Wednesday, Zedd.) Legit Smitty makes melancholic indie-rock out of Nashville, TN with friends and collaborators from all across the southeast. Hailing from Columbia, SC, Smitty has found his creative home in Nashville, TN, where the thriving indie scene is helping him solidify his craft. This new album showcases his most prolific work to date, encompassing a range of moods, tones and stories.
