Biography & Metadata

XANDRIA hold legendary status in symphonic metal — but with their rebirth, the band did not simply return from the past. They arrived as a new force. After a long hiatus, the new line-up unleashed The Wonders Still Awaiting, surprising fans and critics alike with a fresh, modern benchmark for where cinematic symphonic metal could go next. Entering the German Top 10, reaching #4 in the UK Rock & Metal charts and achieving further chart success around the world, the album marked XANDRIA’s highest achievements so far. With classics like “Ravenheart”, “Valentine” and “Nightfall” already part of the genre’s history, the band did not simply continue their legacy — they reinvented it. At the heart of this new era stands Ambre Vourvahis, whose extraordinary vocal range spans emotional rock vocals, operatic colours, screams and growls — bringing XANDRIA’s cinematic stories to life with an intensity and stylistic diversity that makes XANDRIA stand out not only within symphonic metal, but across the metal scene. Now the journey continues with ECLIPSE — coming August 7th. Darker, bolder and more cinematic than ever, the new album expands XANDRIA’s world into a rich landscape of heavy guitars, film-score-like orchestrations, Celtic colours, electronic shadows and defiant messages for reason and empathy in times of growing darkness. On stage, XANDRIA turn their songs into imaginary movies of sound: epic, bombastic, emotional and full of magic — symphonic metal reborn for a new era.
