Biography & Metadata

New Orleans rapper Rob49's songs offer vivid depictions of street hustling and intense imagery drawn straight from his own experiences coming up, from struggles to success. He started rapping in 2020 and quickly produced a body of work that included frequently released mixtapes and the 2023 studio effort 4GOD II. Collaborations with Lil Wayne and Cardi B appeared in 2024, and Rob49's debut album, Let Me Fly, was released in 2025, its charting success driven in part by the viral single "WTHELLY." The rapper continued issuing singles throughout 2026, including the Sexyy Red-featuring "In the Club." Rob49 was born in New Orleans in 1999 and grew up in the housing projects that intersected the city's fourth and ninth wards, hence the "49" in his stage name. He rapped casually throughout high school, but it wasn't until 2020 that he would record any music. After jumping on a beat during a friend's recording session, it became clear that Rob had talent, and he was doing his own sessions days later. Things happened quickly from there, with tracks amassing and eventually being released on projects like the 2020 mixtapes Krazy Man, Vulture, and 4our the World. 2021's 4GOD followed, and in 2022, Rob49 released his most ambitious project to date with the studio album Welcome to Vulture Island. The set featured a host of big-name guest appearances, including contributions from Lil Baby, Birdman, Doe Boy, and Babyface Ray. 4GOD II, his 2023 project, featured DaBaby, Trippie Redd, Icewear Vezzo, and more. In 2024, Rob49 released collaborations with Lil Wayne ("Wassam Baby"), Moneybagg Yo ("Bussin"), and Cardi B ("On Dat Money"), plus solo songs like "I Swear to God" and "On Sight." The viral hit "WTHELLY" appeared in 2025, and Rob49 was additionally featured on songs by NoCap and YTB Fatt. Many of these songs eventually made it onto the rapper's debut studio album, Let Me Fly, which was released in May of 2025. The album debuted at the number 180 slot on the Billboard 200 chart, and in addition to the previously mentioned special guests, it also included appearances from Sexyy Red, Meek Mill, G Herbo, and Polo G. The album's deluxe edition added seven songs, totaling 29 tracks. Several singles appeared in 2026, including "Do It," "Bad Bitch" (with Skillibeng), and "In the Club" (featuring Sexyy Red). ~ TiVo Staff, Rovi
